Sopra Sotto is a gallery for local artist George Rusovick's work in oil, watercolor and acrylics. George Rusovick Most of my paintings are representational, reflecting my love for drawing and painting. An interest in geography, history and nature is a common thread in my work as I seek to depict my experiences with the world around me. Being an outdoors-man, living part-time in South Florida, and travel gives me inspiration for my art. My works at Sopra Sotto reflect my Italian heritage, the culture, architecture, and people of Italy. I have been in juried exhibits and one-man gallery shows. My most recent award was in 2007 when my painting won Best in Show in the Annual Bonnet House Exhibition in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. This juried exhibit was open to all artists living in the United States. My work is in the permanent collections of IBM, St. Olaf College, University of Northern Colorado, Colorado Fuel and Iron Corp., Minnesota Education Association, and other businesses and companies. My art also is in many private collections throughout the United States and foreign countries. I am currently a featured artist at the St. Lawrence Gallery in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida along with Sopra Sotto in Rochester. Lynn Farrell Italy is a place like no other where the details of our civilization of 2000 years are intertwined with the present. From the fountains and monuments of Rome to the picturesque hill towns, the snow capped mountains and the coastal waters; Italy is a living and breathing museum alive with history. I have traveled from mountaintops to the sea with my cameras, lenses and filters to capture that beauty and share details of this unique country with others. Photography and art have been my active pursuit for years. During my ten years Rome, I further studied photography in a series of classes and in the field. I am excited to share my work and make it available for others to enjoy. Whether you are thinking about Italy, have traveled or even lived there, I hope these photos speak to you of the beauty of the county and the people.
